Staging - A Beautiful Thing

This is the most recent addition of to a real estate agent’s tool box used to sell properties. It is an important aspect to showing the beauty of your home as potential buyers come through to see if “your property” meets the search criteria of their “dream home.”

Not Neccessarily An Expensive Project

This does not need to be an expensive venture, but certainly one that is thought through, one that can pay large dividends for the time and effort spent. Your home needs to show its best for prospective buyers. This does not necessarily mean a renovation project or the hiring of contractors, but it will mean a series of smaller chores, some which follow -

  • A fresh coat of paint. This will reflect current colour schemes, update your home and add warmth.
  • Remove excess furniture. This will create a more spacious appearance in your home, your rooms will look larger.
  • Declutter, sometimes less is more. We love to show of what we have, however by doing so we tend to personalize our homes to the point where our prospective buyer’s have difficulty seeing themselves in our surroundings. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

See Your Home Through The Eyes Of An Experienced Agent

We need to see our home through the eyes of an experienced real estate agent, through the years of seeing thousands of homes in all states of decorating, repair and condition. Once we depersonalize our perspective and look at our home from a marketing view, we have a better chance of making our property beautiful from the future owner’s criteria, rather than our own.

It is difficult to be cold and hard, remove our years and memories, then take a pragmatic look at or home, but to make the sale and drive the deal, it’s worth the effort.
